Earlier this month we were delighted to meet Doctor Diana Dixon, Honorary Reviews Editor, from CILIP Local Studies Committee (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals). Diana came along to present the certificate for the 2016 Alan Ball Award to the Peterborough Local Studies and Archives Service. The award was given in recognition of the Peterborough in the Great War interactive website. Diana told the group that despite keen competition the project was a clear winner. During the visit Diana spent time with the volunteers finding out about their different roles and exploring various aspects of the website. Diana said “In talking to the volunteers it was evident just how much painstaking research had gone into tracing people and making the project so interesting”. She also pointed out how impressed she had been with the display on Peterborough Station. We are very proud to have received the Alan Ball Award and really enjoyed Diana’s visit.
