A recent trip to the Imperial War Museum (IWM) proved to be a very successful event. The purpose of the trip was to assess the museums current WW1 exhibition to gain inspiration for our own exhibition at Peterborough Museum in January 2016.
The IWM exhibition certainly provided us with a lot of ideas such as best use of space, lighting and different methods of displaying artefacts. We were also enthused by their use of projection and sound to heighten visitor’s emotive experience. We are very excited about this phase of the project and are really looking forward to planning the event. We just need to remember that the IWM is a much bigger building with ours with a much bigger budget!
