Biography

Sergeant CE Smith passed through East Station and signed the visitors’ book on 9 July 1916.  His entry reveals he was serving with the the 2/8 Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment and wrote of a “Kindness that will never be forgotten”.  At that time he was stationed at Somerleyton Park, Lowestoft.

We have not been able to trace anything further about this soldier … can you help?
