Biography
Private O D Jones was serving with the 3rd Yeomanry Cyclist Regiment when he passed through Peterborough East Station on 24 February 2017 and was stationed at the Drill Hall, Beccles, Suffolk. He wrote in the visitors’ book “Many thanks for the Refreshments I just received here, and comfort I had here today off the Lady”. He was with three other soldiers serving with the 3rd Yeomanry Cyclists Regiment; Privates Crump, Jones and Evans.
In October 1916 the 2/1st Denbighshire Yeomanry and the 2/1st Monmouthshire Yeomanry converted to form the 3rd (Denbigh & Montgomery) Yeomanry Cyclist Battalion. For more information about the Denbighshire Yeomanry, please see http://bit.ly/2EVp33K
