Biography

Gunner E Ball was serving with the Royal Field Artillery when he passed through Peterborough East Station on 2 May 1917.  He wrote in the visitors’ book:

“Let not thy mind be troubled

But get thy wages doubled

Although I laugh and make such fun

I’m always glad when my days works done”
