Biography

Private George Stewart was serving with B Company, 2/7th Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders when he passed through Peterborough East Station on 23 July 1916, while stationed at Edenthorpe Camp, North Walsham, Norfolk.

Unfortunately his service record could not be located but from his medal records it is known that he also served with the Seaforth Highlanders, the Labour Corps and the Royal Engineers.  In addition to the British War and Allied Victory Medals, he was awarded the 1914-15 Star and the Territorial Force War Medal.
