Biography
Private George Dawson passed through Peterborough East Station and signed the visitors’ book on 12 January 1917. His entry reveals he was a member of the 2/7 Battalion Black Watch and he wrote ‘Norwich Frae auld Reekie’. The 2/7 were based in Norwich from March 1916 through to the summer of 1917. ‘Auld Reekie’ is another name for Edinburgh, which maybe his home town.
Unfortunately his service records could not be located and we have been unable to trace Private Dawson.
