Biography
G H McGill passed through Peterborough East Station on 29 April 1917. He wrote in the visitors’ book “There’s na muckle I kin put in, sa I winna tre it.” From his entry, we assume that he is probably a Scot but unfortunately, we have been unable to trace any records for this soldier.
We are grateful to Elizabeth Waine who has been in touch and has provided the following translation, “There’s no much I can put in, as I won’t try it.”
