Biography

Rifleman G W Seed passed through Peterborough East Station on 5 July 1916.  He was one of several soldiers from the 2/7th (Leeds Rifles) West Yorkshire Regiment.  He wrote in the visitors’ book “Wishes Miss A.O. Webster.  With thanks for attendance”.

From June 1916, the 2/7th (Leeds Rifles) Battalion was based at Somerleyton near Lowestoft, before moving on to Bedford in October 1916, and finally landing at Le Havre in January 1917.  http://bit.ly/2nRjJTP
