Biography

Private John Bridges was serving with the 7th Northamptonshire Regiment when he passed through Peterborough East Station on 23 September 1916.  He signed the visitors’ book and drew a sketch of “the girl I lost at London”.

We have been unable to trace John’s service record, but his medal card reveals he also served with the Scottish Rifles, the Labour Corps and the Machine Gun Corps and served in France from 15 October 1915.  He was discharged on 10 February 1922, and was awarded the 15 Star, British War and Allied Victory Medals.
