Biography
Lance Corporal John Rennie passed through Peterborough East Station and signed the visitors’ book on 13 January 1917. His entry reveals he was serving with the 2/6 Seaforth Highlanders, who at the time were based at Cromer.
Regrettably, John’s service record could not be located. However, his medal card records that he was posted to France on 21 October 1915 and at some later point he transferred to the Army Service Corps. He was awarded the 14/15 Star, British War and Allied Victory medals.
John Rennie is a very common name in Scottish records and has proven too difficult to research any further at this time.
