Biography

Private Jim Grimshaw passed through Peterborough East Station and signed the visitors’ book on 6 December 1916.  He was serving with the 2/7th Welsh (Cyclists) Battalion and wrote “I cannot add anything to the remarks on the foregoing pages – but I certainly can & do confirm them”.

The 2/7th (Cyclist) Battalion was formed in Cardiff in 1914 as a Territorial Battalion of the Welsh Regiment.  The Battalion was variously based in Norfolk at Holt, Fakenham and Melton Constable. For more about the Welsh Regiment please see   http://bit.ly/2mGD0HP
