Biography

Private Leonard Clarke was serving with the 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers when he passed through Peterborough East Station on 25 November 1916.  He was travelling in a group of six soldiers; Privates Smith, Davies, Trayers, Kemp and Nuttall, all serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers.

It has not been possible to locate Leonard’s service records but his medal card reveals he served with the Lancashire Fusiliers, and later the Monmouthshire and Welsh Regiments.  He served overseas and was awarded the British War and Allied Victory Medals.
