Biography

Private R Ross was serving with the 2/7th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders when he passed through Peterborough East Station on 22 March 1917.  He wrote in the visitors’ book “Many thanks for kindness shown me during my short stay here.”

The 2/7 Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders formed at Stirling in September 1914, they moved to Norwich in March 1916, moved to Taverham (April) and Norwich (October) before being disbanded in autumn 1917.
