Biography
Private Stewart Sheills Mann was the son of George and Euphemia Mann. He was born in Coupar, Angus, Perthshire in 1896 and had a younger sister, Effie. His father was a master slater and Stewart was a slater before the war.
We have not located his service records, but it is probable that he enlisted in to the Royal Army Medical Corps and was attached first to the Royal Field Artillery and subsequently to the 14th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (London Scottish).
He survived the war and returned to Scotland, marrying Norah Lawson in Alyth in 1922.
