Biography

Driver S Pickup was serving with the 37th Battalion Royal Field Artillery when he passed through Peterborough East Station tea room on 3 July 1916.  He wrote in the visitor’s book:

“Some People love the Thistle

Some People love the Rose
But I think the Flour that makes my Bread
is the sweetest flower that grows”
