Biography

Trooper ‘Billy’ Hartley passed through Peterborough East Station and signed the visitors’ book on 31st May 1917.   He wrote “‘Home From Home’. We only knew They were Sisters’ True”. His entry also reveals that he was serving with ‘D’ Battery based at Brooke near Norwich.

Unfortunately his service records could not be located but he did sign ‘Overseas Group’ so it is assumed that he saw action overseas at some point.
